Frequently asked questions
How far ahead should I plan the party?
The earlier you can plan the better. Unfortunately some parents do not respond or take quite a long time to RSVP, so be prepared for that. When booking Charlie Farley or Rags, we will confirm which one of us is available for your special event and send you confirmation once we have been given all the details of your venue address, time etc and will call you a couple of days before your party to introduce ourselves to you if you haven’t already spoken to us! This also gives you the opportunity to ask any other questions you may have before your party.
Can I have a joint party?
YES! Joint parties are a cost effective way to hold a party. We ask that ONLY one parent deal with us with all the booking details to avoid any confusion about party information.
What ages do you cater for?
If you have three children aged 3, 5, 9, and the party is for the 5 year old, the content of the show will predominantly be tailored and targeted towards the Birthday child’s age as it is their special day. A mix of ages can sometimes lead to unnecessary disruptions so stick to the birthday child’s friends and make the older child special by giving them jobs to do.
What do the adults do at the party?
Many parents will leave their children at the party (Remember to get a contact number of the parents not staying in case of emergencies) For those that do stay they always enjoy the entertainment just as much as the kids. Generally some adults will want to stay for a cup of Tea or Coffee (Prosecco!) and a chat, we recommend putting a few chairs at the back of the venue for these adults to sit. It is paramount that at least one adult is present at all times whilst the entertainer is performing.
How many entertainers come to the party?
Unless you specifically request an additional entertainer there is no need to have more than one entertainer as both Charlie Farley and Rags have been professionally trained and with over 25 years performing experience are highly skilled to keep all the party guests entertained. Check out our impressive CV for more info.
How and when do I have to Pay?
A booking fee of £50, payable by bank transfer is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance is generally paid the week leading up to your event or in cash upon arrival (A receipt for cash payments will be given on the day unless you ave already paid in full).
Do you wear a full clown make-up?
Nooooo! As you can see on our video and photo’s we are more cartoon like rather than scary clown’s! We use our natural physical comedy talent and showmanship to entertain and put the children at ease.
My child is extremely shy?
Please do not worry, this is not a problem for us. Before the start of the show we will mix and mingle with your little guests building a friendly rapport with each one quickly learning and understanding a brief knowledge of their characters. No child is forced to participate, but everyone is encouraged to have a good giggle!
